Majorettes are girls or young women who wear majorette costumes and do choreographed dance or movement as part of a synchronized group.
They mainly do baton twirling and are associated with marching bands during parades.
Its origins started in the early 1900s from girls’ involvement in drill and gymnastic teams. Majorettes can also twirl knives, flags and other items. It is considered a team sport and needs plenty of practice and discipline to be able to perform as a well synchronized team.
Majorette uniforms are of course worn in all majorette events to provide a smart and cohesive appearance and they also give the twirling majorettes the chance to present originality in design and personality consistent with the majorette routines they are doing.
Majorette uniforms are an integral part of the sport and are worn with pride by baton twirling athletes. Many majorette groups buy their uniforms from Majorette Uniform Catalogs.
